What is the most significant grill design ever made by any car maker in history?

A grill design that tells you what the car is without looking at a badge. A design that has changed little through the years.

I would say that the BMW double kidney grill is incredibly iconic and one of the first things that comes to mind when thinking of grills.

Reply:If you were to poll how many people could recognize cars by their distinctive grilles, My vote would have to go for the mustang with the inner foglights/accesory lights....but there are sooooo many
Reply:The Rolls-Royce grille fits your criteria.
Reply:i will agree with the BMW idea.

but i think Rolls-Royce.

they all have that distinct huge vertical grill and (even though you said not to include these) the Spirit of Ecstacy with the wings spread on top.

you can see it coming from a mile away
Reply:The most distinctive was probably the Tucker. In the middle of the grill was a center headlight that swiveled the direction the car was turned so you could see where you were turning. That is being offered as an option on some luxury cars today but it was done 80 years ago.
