How would you design a logo for this sea cruise company?

"Design a logo for a travel company operating luxury sea and river boat cruises. The name of the company, ARK, must be included in your design. In addition show how the logo might look on a luggage label or on a signboard at an embarkation point."

How would you design your logo? What would you do?

How would you design a logo for this sea cruise company?
You need to think of the word Ark combined with the sea theme. I had to do a logo for a toy shop called Plum Toys. Hundreds of ideas around plum trees, plums, plum colour, hand-made wooden toys. I ended up with pieces of a jigsaw with the letters painted on. So: Ark, Noah, Cruise Ship, Ocean Waves - the possibilities are endless.
Reply:josh, are you in design school? Is this one of your projects? If so, you should NOT be asking this on yahoo....you will not get very many smart responses.

http://www.graphicdesignforum.com is a great place to discuss design and get feedback from other designers who would be able to help yo u much better.

I'm a designer, and do logo design.

First, sketch some ideas out, take the best ones and scan them into photoshop. Save them. Import into Illustrator and trace over the sketch using the pen tool.

Logos should ALWAYS be designed FIRST in Illustrator in ONE COLOR. THEN you can create variations of the logo for 2+ colors. And even spice it up for a web logo. BUT you should always start in illustrator.

Hope that helps.
Reply:Why don't you search existing logo sites to get ideas?
