What's the best design for a formal dress when you want to hide your waistline?

I'm attending a wedding and need a design that will hide my unflattering waistline. What do you suggest?

Anything with a structured bodice (corset type) with an a-line skirt would be best. Empire waist (seam under your boobs) works too, but is a bit obvious and can make you look pregnant, yikes. Another option is a wrap dress, where the midsection has looser fabric swirled to the side. Buying a high-quality body shaper is a great investment as well. Buy one before dress shopping and you might be able to pull off more styles than you think! Best of luck!
Reply:A babydoll dress! They are cute and can be formal, you can get the one that ones that fit nice around the chest area and than go flowy the rest of the way down. Or get a dress with a cinched waist, those actually make your waist appear smaller!

Reply:try babydoll-like dresses, there tight at the top but long and flowly at the bottom, which means it wont cling to your figure
